Upon arrival at the selected rental location, the customer must present all mandatory documentation required by Valpi Rent, as well as a physical credit card to secure the deposit and make any applicable payments. We recommend starting the Pick-Up/Check-Out process using our self-service kiosks available at our branches, as they offer a faster and more autonomous experience while providing full visibility of our products. To begin the kiosk process, you only need to enter your Reservation Number and associated Pin. Once the kiosk process is complete, simply proceed to the service counter to sign the rental agreement and collect the vehicle key.

In line with our commitment to transparency and customer trust, regardless of the protections or extras selected, Valpi Rent strongly recommends recording a video (or taking photos) of the vehicle before starting your rental agreement to avoid any potential damage disputes at the end of the rental period. Additionally, if you notice any damage not marked on your rental agreement, please visit the counter so that the contract can be promptly updated.

The customer must return the vehicle by the end date indicated in the rental agreement. At the time of return/check-in, the vehicle will be inspected, and the customer will be asked to sign the contract closure. If there are any outstanding amounts, the branch will inform the customer and process the corresponding payment. Please note that the contract is only considered closed once it has been signed. If the customer refuses to sign, the contract will remain active and incur the associated costs (additional days, extras, etc.).

Regarding the vehicle inspection, it must be carried out by a Valpi Rent employee or authorized representative. If the customer returns or leaves the vehicle without a representative present, they may be held liable for any damages caused by third parties, as well as for any related costs or expenses.

Yes, customers may perform vehicle Pick-Up/Check-Out or Drop-Off/Check-In outside regular business hours at selected branches. In such cases, an Out-of-Hours Service Fee will apply. When simulating a reservation on our website for the desired period, only eligible branches and available vehicles will be displayed if this service is offered.

Yes, customers may return the vehicle to a branch different from the pickup location, subject to availability and prior confirmation by Valpi Rent. In such cases, a One Way fee may apply, varying according to the selected branches and the distance between them. If you anticipate this need, we recommend indicating it at the time of booking to ensure the best possible arrangement.

In the event of an accident during the rental period, the customer must complete the Motor Vehicle Accident Statement and immediately contact the relevant authorities to request their presence at the scene to file the official report. In case the vehicle becomes immobilized, you should also contact Roadside Assistance (available 24/7) using the number provided in the vehicle’s insurance document.

The customer must notify Valpi Rent of the incident by sending an email to frota@valpirent.pt, attaching the aforementioned documents (the duly completed Motor Vehicle Accident Statement and Official Report from the Authorities).

The customer must ensure that they (at a minimum) complete all information on the front of the statement (including the sketch of the accident), as well as points 4 and 5 on the back.

If the vehicle develops any fault or breakdown during the rental period, the customer must contact our Fleet Department using one of the following options:

In case the vehicle becomes immobilized, the customer should contact Roadside Assistance (available 24/7) using the number provided in the vehicle’s insurance document, and must also notify our Fleet Department via WhatsApp or email.

If you have refueled the vehicle with the wrong type of fuel, you must stop the vehicle immediately and contact the Roadside Assistance service using the phone number provided on the insurance document. Failure to stop the vehicle may result in mechanical damage and additional costs, which are the sole responsibility of the customer.Such situations are considered negligence and are therefore not covered by any protection plan or optional coverage. The vehicle will be transported to an authorized Valpi Rent partner workshop for evaluation and repair, with the resulting costs charged to the customer (including the cost of refueling to restore the initial fuel level).

Yes, in the event of a vehicle issue that results in immobilization, the client is entitled to a replacement vehicle for the duration of the rental agreement. To request it, the client must contact our Fleet Department through one of the following channels:

• Email: frota@valpirent.pt .

Our Fleet Department will handle the process and inform the client which branch to visit for replacement vehicle collection. The client is also entitled to transport to the designated branch, provided by Roadside Assistance.

Please note that replacement vehicle collection is only possible during branch working hours. Additionally, depending on the origin of the incident, the replacement will only be authorized if the client has no outstanding amounts due.

Once Valpi Rent operates exclusively in Portugal, the collection of replacement vehicles is limited to our branches.

If new damages are identified at the end of the rental period, they will be charged according to the damage table available at our rental locations. Although liability is limited to the amount of the deductible, any damages or costs resulting from breach of the rental agreement, acts of vandalism, negligence, misuse of the vehicle, or violation of local laws are excluded. Additionally, all damages caused to the roof, underbody, or interior of the vehicle are considered negligent and therefore remain the customer’s responsibility.

In the event the customer refuses to pay for the damages at the rental desk, an invoice will be issued for the corresponding repair costs, plus an administrative fee of 100€ related to the processing of the case.

If the vehicle associated with your long-term rental agreement requires maintenance (such as servicing, tyre replacement, or other interventions), you may contact your corporate account manager to find the most suitable solution, or consult our network of partner workshops in your customer area and schedule the service directly with them.

If you schedule the service directly with the workshop, please send an email to frota@valpirent.pt specifying the type of intervention and the chosen workshop, so that our Fleet Department can authorize the process.

If you notice that the date for the Mandatory Periodic Inspection is approaching, please contact our Fleet Department at frota@valpirent.pt, providing the following details:

• Rental agreement number ;

• Vehicle licence plate ;

• Preferred location for the Mandatory Periodic Inspection.

Our Fleet Department will get in touch with you as soon as possible to schedule the inspection.

Valpi Rent has agreements with several inspection centers across the country, and we will select the one that best meets your needs.

Valpi Rent only accepts payments made with physical debit or credit cards from Visa or Mastercard, with a minimum validity of 3 months and in the name of the reservation holder. Cash payments are not accepted.

At the time of signing the rental agreement, the customer/driver will be required to provide a security deposit. This deposit is mandatory and must be made using a physical credit card. In case of non-compliance, the rental agreement may be refused, even if a prior reservation has been accepted. Typically, the amounts requested by Valpi Rent correspond to the insurance deductible of the chosen vehicle and the Via Verde (electronic toll) service. However, if the customer/driver wishes to add any extras to the contract, the deductible amount may change. Valpi Rent only accepts credit cards issued by Visa or Mastercard, with a minimum validity of 3 months and issued in the name of the requester (MBWay/MBNet, prepaid, or other virtual cards are not accepted).

At the end of the rental period, if there are no outstanding charges, the pre-authorization related to the vehicle's deductible may be canceled/unblocked immediately. As for the Via Verde service pre-authorization, it will only be canceled/unblocked fully or partially (depending on service usage) 15 business days after the vehicle check-in/return. This deposit cannot be released before this period due to legal obligations with Via Verde (DL no. 84-C/2022, of December 9). Please understand and accept this condition before proceeding with the rental.

All transactions are processed and intermediated by entities external to Valpi Rent, therefore, the completion time of such transactions may vary depending on the respective banks involved.

The Deductible refers to the customer’s financial responsibility to Valpi Rent in the event of damage, collision, or theft of the rented vehicle. You may choose to subscribe to our protection products to reduce the excess amount and consequently limit your liability. In turn, the Security Deposit is a mandatory amount held at the start of the rental as a guarantee to cover any additional costs such as extra rental days, damages, fuel, tolls, fines, or other services used during the rental period.

In summary, the Deductible limits the customer’s liability, while the Security Deposit serves as a guarantee of that liability.

A Pre-Authorization is a temporary hold of a specific amount on your credit card, used to verify that the payment method is valid and that sufficient funds are available. This process does not represent an actual charge, but rather a temporary hold of the amount.

A Debit refers to an actual transaction, meaning the amount is immediately withdrawn from your account (unlike pre-authorizations, which only place a temporary hold on funds).

Yes, however please note that only physical credit cards issued by Visa or Mastercard are accepted, with a minimum validity of 3 months and under the same name as the reservation holder.

Pre-paid reservations can be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before the rental start. Refunds will be processed using the same payment method used for the initial purchase.
If the client cancels with less than 48 hours’ notice, Valpi Rent will issue a voucher for 50% of the amount paid, to be used for a future booking. In such cases, Valpi Rent proceeds as follows:

• Initially, a Credit Note will be issued and sent for the full amount paid ;
• Next, a new invoice relating to the booking cancellation will then be issued ;
• Once the client returns the Credit Note to Valpi Rent, duly signed (and stamped in the case of a company), they will receive a voucher for the remaining 50% to use on a future booking.

In the event of a no-show, or if the client does not request cancellation, Valpi Rent will not issue any refund or voucher.

Reservations with payment upon vehicle pickup can be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before the start of the rental. If the customer cancels less than 48 hours in advance, Valpi Rent will charge 50% of the reservation amount through the pre-authorization made at the time of confirmation. In the event that the customer does not show up (No Show) and does not request the cancellation of the reservation, Valpi Rent will charge the full reservation amount through the pre-authorization made at the time of confirmation.

In the event that the customer needs to return the vehicle early and wishes to be compensated for any unused amounts, Valpi Rent offers the following options:

• 50% refund of the unused amount, processed via bank transfer ;
• 100% voucher of the unused amount, redeemable for future bookings.

To request compensation, the client must send an email to faturas@valpirent.pt , indicating their rental agreement number and the type of compensation requested. If selecting the refund option, the email must include the client’s IBAN details. Subsequently, the client will receive an email from us containing a Credit Note for the original document, which must be returned to Valpi Rent duly signed (and stamped if it concerns a company).

If you have received an invoice from Valpi Rent and need to update the details on it, you should send an email to faturas@valpirent.pt, indicating the invoice number and the reason for the correction. Please note that changes can only be requested for invoices that have already been settled.

Our invoicing department will review your request and proceed accordingly if all the above-mentioned requirements are met. Once the corrected document is issued, you will receive, in the same email, a Credit Note related to the original invoice, which must be returned to Valpi Rent duly signed (and stamped if it concerns a company).

If you require proof of Pre-Authorization release or a Refund receipt, please email faturas@valpirent.pt and include your rental agreement number. We kindly ask for your understanding, as the availability of such documents depends on the type of transaction performed, such receipts may or may not be generated, specifically depending on the nature of the transaction:

• Pre-Authorization Cancellation: a receipt is issued ;

• Partial Pre-Authorization Charge: a receipt is issued for the charged amount, however, no receipt is generated for the release of the remaining balance, as it is automatically unblocked by the issuing bank ;

• Refund: a receipt is issued.

The customer is responsible for the payment of all fines incurred during the rental period.Whenever Valpi Rent is notified by the competent authorities to identify the driver of the rented vehicle, the customer will be charged an administrative fee of €35 for each identification request received, regardless of the nature of the offense. This amount covers the administrative costs associated with collecting, verifying, and submitting the requested information to the authorities. The customer will then be contacted directly by the relevant authority to proceed with payment of the fine.

The subscription of protections and/or extras is only valid if completed before the start of the rental, and the client may add these products either during the reservation process or up until the rental agreement is created. Please note that some extras may be subject to availability at the selected rental locations (e.g., Baby Seats or Booster Seats).

No, the subscription of products and services offered by Valpi Rent can only be applied to the full duration of the rental period. However, depending on the rental duration selected by the customer, some extras have a maximum charge limit (e.g., if the customer rents for 14 days, an extra with a 10-day billing cap will only be charged for those 10 days).

When simulating your reservation on our website, you can review all applicable scenarios and conditions. Please note that depending on the type of extra selected, the billing limit may apply per month or per rental agreement.

The Basic Protection is included in the rates displayed on the Valpi Rent website. This protection limits the customer’s liability to the deductible amount specified in the event of damage caused by a collision or vehicle theft. The deductible amount varies according to the vehicle group rented.

By subscribing to the Medium CDW Protection, the customer reduces the deductible associated with the rented vehicle to 400€, thereby limiting their liability in the event of damage, collision, or theft. Since the security deposit required by Valpi Rent corresponds to the value of the deductible, this product also reduces the amount to be held as a safety deposit.

The Super CDW Protection is the coverage plan recommended by Valpi Rent. By subscribing to this package, the customer reduces the deductible associated with the rented vehicle to 100€, thereby limiting their liability in the event of damage, collision, or theft. Since the security deposit required by Valpi Rent corresponds to the value of the deductible, this product also reduces the amount to be held as a safety deposit. By subscribing to the Super CDW protection, you also benefit from the Roadside Assistance Plus extra, which includes free towing in cases of lost or forgotten keys, fuel shortage or incorrect refuelling, and tire blowouts or punctures.

By legal requirement (DL no. 84-C/2022, of December 9), the Via Verde service is automatically activated during the rental period. This service has a cost of 2€ per day, with a monthly maximum of 20€ per rental agreement, and charges are applied only on days when transactions occur. Please note that the Via Verde service provided by Valpi Rent does not include the complementary services described on the official Via Verde website (e.g., parking, fuel stations, ferries, and other services).

Only the drivers listed in the rental agreement are authorized to operate Valpi Rent vehicles. Therefore, if you wish to share the driving experience with your travel companion, you must add this option to your rental agreement. Valpi Rent allows a maximum of two drivers per rental (main and additional). Like the main driver, the additional driver must present a valid Citizen Card or Passport, Driver’s License, and Proof of Address. All documents must be original, valid, and properly authenticated — copies, provisional documents, or seizure notices are not accepted.

Valpi Rent vehicles are not authorized to circulate outside Portugal, unless otherwise stated in the rental agreement. If you wish to drive abroad, you must subscribe to our Cross-Border Extra, which allows circulation in the countries listed in the insurance policy. Please note that in these cases, even if a protection reducing the deductible is purchased, the deposit required will correspond to the vehicle’s original deductible amount.

In the event that the client drives the vehicle outside Portugal without proper authorization in the rental agreement, Valpi Rent will apply the corresponding Cross-Border extra. Any subscribed protections or extras related to deductible or liability reduction will become invalid. Additionally, the client will be held responsible for the full commercial value of the vehicle, as well as any costs resulting from the breach of the rental agreement.

By subscribing to our Tyres and Glass extra, the client will not incur any charges for tyre punctures, blowouts, or glass breakage. Please note that this extra excludes damage to rims, hubcaps, mirrors, headlights, and taillights.

With the Travel Assistance Plus service, in addition to the services already included in the rate, you benefit from free towing in the following situations:

• Loss of the key or leaving it inside the vehicle;
• Running out of fuel or using the wrong fuel;
• Flat tire or punctured tire.

If you require assistance in one of the situations mentioned above and have not subscribed to this service, a towing intervention fee of €100 will be applied. This extra does not include costs related to vehicle repairs or the issuance of a second key (in case of loss).

By subscribing to this extra, you avoid charges associated with excessive dirt inside the vehicle, such as stained seats or the need for specialised cleaning, with costs starting from €100, in accordance with our damage table. This product does not cover damage caused to the interior of the vehicle, nor tobacco-related cleaning.

For legal and safety reasons, if travelling with children in the vehicle, you must use the appropriate child seat or booster seat according to their age and weight. For your comfort and convenience, Valpi Rent offers the following options:

• Car seat recommended for children aged 1 to 3 years, weighing between 9 and 18 kg ;
• Booster seat recommended for children aged 4 to 12 years, weighing between 15 and 45 kg.

Please note that the extras described are subject to availability at the selected rental location.

Anticipate additional mileage costs and save. If you expect to exceed the 250 kms/day included in the rental rate, you can add this pack and benefit from a discount (already included in the displayed price) by selecting the prepaid option when completing your reservation. The subscription of this extra is per unit, not per day. For example, in a 3-day rental the customer has 750 kms included in total. By adding 1 pack of 250 kms, the customer will have a total of 1000 kms in their rental. If the mileage limit included in the rental rate is exceeded without the prior subscription of this pack, the amount charged at the end of the rental for each kilometre pack will be higher than the one displayed on the website.

The vehicle will only have valid protections and/or extras for the contracted rental period, therefore, in cases of contractual breach (e.g., breach of trust), Valpi Rent declines any and all responsibility for any accidents, damages, or other costs caused by the customer beyond the contracted period, and all protections and extras become invalid in such cases. Consequently, in the event of non-compliance, the customer is solely and fully responsible for any damages incurred, including the commercial value of the rented vehicle.

The rates displayed on the Valpi Rent website include:

• Third Party Liability with coverage up to 50 000 000 € (fifty million euros) ;

• Roadside Assistance (24/7) ;

• Scheduled Maintenance ;

• Applicable taxes (VAT).

By purchasing one of our protection options, you benefit from Collision and Theft Protection with an Excess. The customer's liability varies depending on the protection selected and the terms and conditions of the rental agreement. Please note that damage or any other costs resulting from a breach of the rental agreement, acts of vandalism, negligence, misuse of the vehicle, or violation of applicable laws are excluded from the selected protection.

In order to enter into a rental agreement with Valpi Rent, the customer/driver must have the following documents in their possession:

• Citizen Card or Passport ;
• Driver’s License ;
• Proof of Address.

All of the above-mentioned documents must be valid and duly authenticated (copies, provisional documents, or seizure notices are not accepted). If the customer is of foreign nationality and resides in Portugal, they must also present a valid residence permit in addition to the aforementioned documentation. Please note that the residence permit does not replace any of the required documents.

You can conveniently and independently validate your documents in advance through your customer area.

Drivers must be at least 19 years old (with at least one year's driving license) and cannot be over 75 years old - a young driver fee applies if the driver is under 24 years old and a senior driver fee applies if the driver is over 70 years. The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the rental starts. In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the driver license is written in a language other than that of the renting country and/or in characters that cannot be read in the renting country. A driver license printed using a non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc) must be supplemented by an International Driving Permit. For driver licenses from countries not party to the International Driving Permit treaty, an official translation of the license must be presented with the original license. Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license. In addition to documents mentioned previously, the customer will need the following: credit card on a main driver’s name, Passport or ID card, booking voucher and a valid identification document with correct address to fill out the rental agreement (the address must be from the same country as the driver's nationality – no vacations address are allowed). Adding additional drivers is allowed when picking up the vehicle, however all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation – an additional driver fee will be charged.

You can make your reservation quickly and easily through the Valpi Rent website by selecting the dates, the pick-up and drop-off locations, as well as the desired vehicle group. During the booking process, you can also add additional protections and optional extras, such as deductible reductions, child seats, or additional drivers. To complete your reservation, you must provide your email address, through which you will receive a message from Valpi Rent containing a link to confirm it. After email validation, you should select your preferred payment method:

• Prepayment – the customer makes full payment of the reservation;
• Payment at the Counter – a pre-authorization of 0€ will be made to verify the validity of the payment method.

All transactions are processed and managed by the provider Paytef, and Valpi Rent never retains the customer’s banking details at any time.

Reservations with immediate confirmation are automatically confirmed at the end of the booking process. Meanwhile, reservations with 24-hour confirmation require validation by our Reservations Center, and a response will be provided to the customer as soon as possible. Typically, the response time is less than 2 hours during business hours.

Once the reservation is confirmed, the customer will receive an email notification. In the event that the reservation is not accepted by our Reservations Center and the customer has made a prepayment, the amount will be automatically refunded.

If you wish to modify any details of your reservation (e.g., dates, extras, etc.), you can select the "Search Reservation" option on our website and access your booking using the Reservation Number and corresponding PIN, or access your customer area to make the necessary changes. There is no additional cost for modifications, however, depending on the type of change requested, prices may be recalculated and differ from those initially displayed. All modifications require confirmation from Valpi Rent (response within 24 hours).

To create your account and access the Customer Area, simply go to the "My Account" menu, select "Create Account," and fill in the requested information. For your security and privacy, the password must be at least 8 characters long, including uppercase letter(s), digit(s), and a special character. You will then receive an email with a link to confirm the activation of your account. Once confirmed, you can log in and enjoy the benefits provided in the Customer Area.

If you have previously made reservations on our website, you can go to the "My Account" menu, select "Log In," and then "Forgot Password." After entering your email address (make sure it is the same one used for your reservations), you will receive an email with a link to set your password. Once this is completed, you can log in and enjoy the benefits provided in the Customer Area. Since you have already rented with Valpi Rent, all historical information (based on the provided email) will be automatically available.

The customer can pre-validate their details through the following options:

• Reservation - After completing the reservation payment, a new section with tabs related to customer details will appear, allowing the customer to validate their information;

• Insurance Reservation - If your reservation was made through your insurance company, you should select the "Search Reservation" option on our website and access your reservation using the Reservation Number and corresponding PIN. As in the previous point, you will find a section with tabs related to customer details, through which you can validate your information;

• Customer Area - You can access the "Profile" menu in your customer area, select "Edit," and validate any missing information.

Information validation is handled by the provider Veriff, with most fields automatically filled. The customer only needs to complete any missing data not returned by the provider. In all the above options, the customer must have their mobile phone to scan the corresponding QR Codes, as well as take photos of their documents and a selfie for validation (when applicable). Regarding proof of address, the customer can either photograph the document or upload it to the provider's platform.

All photos and documents are processed and managed by Veriff, and Valpi Rent does not store them at any time.

The vehicle must be returned with the same amount of fuel as at the start of the rental. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel than it had initially, Valpi Rent will charge a refuelling fee accordingly — these charges are calculated and applied per quarter tank.

The vehicles shown on our website are examples of the types available in the Valpi Rent fleet. Because our vehicles are in daily circulation, the brand and model delivered at pickup is subject to availability.

The client is entitled to an average of 250 kilometers per day, with a monthly limit of 4200 kilometers. If the client exceeds the mileage included in the rate, Valpi Rent will charge additional kilometers in increments of 250-kilometer packs. Below are some examples of how these charges are applied:

• Example 1: The client exceeded 45 kilometers – Valpi Rent will charge 1 pack of 250 kilometers ;

• Example 2: The client exceeded 240 kilometers – Valpi Rent will charge 1 pack of 250 kilometers ;

• Example 3: The client exceeded 300 kilometers – Valpi Rent will charge 2 packs of 250 kilometers.

Regarding the cost of kilometer packs, these vary depending on the rented vehicle group.

Please note that the above conditions do not apply to Replacement rentals, as these clients are entitled to unlimited mileage.

The customer is entitled to a two-hour grace period for vehicle return. This period applies only within the operating hours of the rental offices and cannot be carried over to the next business day.If the vehicle is returned after the grace period, Valpi Rent will charge the corresponding additional fees for the contracted services.

The customer must take proper care of the vehicle and use it responsibly, ensuring that it is used exclusively for legal purposes, driven only on public roads and in accordance with the Highway Code, and kept locked and in a safe location when not in use.Valpi Rent does not allow the use of the vehicle under the following circumstances:

• Transporting passengers or goods in violation of the law ;
• Transporting goods or materials that may damage or alter the vehicle’s condition, compromising its safety or availability for future rentals ;
• Participation in or practice for sporting or competitive events, whether official or not ;
• Towing other vehicles ;
• Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other substance that directly or indirectly impairs perception or reaction time.

Any improper use may result in the loss of the contracted coverages and full liability of the customer for any damages or losses.

There is no limit to the number of reservations a customer can hold simultaneously, as they may plan ahead and schedule multiple future bookings. However, a customer may not have more than one active rental agreement at a time in which they are the sole designated driver.

If the customer needs to extend the rental agreement, they must go to the counter where the vehicle Pick-Up/Check-Out was carried out at least 24 hours before the contract end date, in order to make the corresponding payment and obtain the updated rental agreement. Please note that extensions are subject to availability and validation by Valpi Rent.

The customer must ensure that the correct email address is provided in the reservation/contract, as it is essential for the following interactions carried out by Valpi Rent:
